The Song of Desert is a special to the Battle Through the Heavens Donghua, chronicling the first meeting between the Ice Emperor Hai Bo Dong and the fierce and beautiful Queen Medusa of the Snake-people tribe.

Premiering on April 13, 2019, the story centers around a young Hai Bo Dong, a mercenary and one of the top ten strongest individuals of the Jia Ma Empire. As a Dou Huang from the Miteer Family, he finds himself caught up in the affairs of the Snake-people tribe while on a mission to retrieve a captured snake-woman from a slave trader. After successfully completing the task, he is attacked by a masked assassin from the Snake-people tribe and is forced to go on the run with the snake-woman who is being pursued by the tribe as a traitor.

Along the way, they encounter Queen Medusa, the newly crowned ruler of the Snake-people tribe and the one behind the masked assassin that Hai Bo Dong had previously encountered. The main plot revolves around the identity of the snake-woman and how her existence leads to a conflict between Ice Emperor and Queen Medusa, ultimately resulting in Hai Bo Dong’s current state in the main Battle Through the Heavens timeline.
